MORNING GATHERINGS BY SEASONAL WORKSHOP

Over the course of a week in April, the seasonal craft workshop led the morning gatherings. Each day we looked at a different project that we are engaged in this spring. I'd like to thank all the companions and co-workers who have contributed so much to these projects and presentations.

MORNING GATHERINGS BY BAY TREE COTTAGE

Dear Lantern Weekly Bay Tree took a localish theme this last week.  In June, four companions from different houses, are taking to the water ways of the English canal system.  Mark captained the morning gathering through our journey of locks, lifting us up from Braunston on the Oxford Canal, to Warwick and its Castle. 

REFLECTIONS ON THE EASTER FESTIVAL TIME

The preparation and celebrations of the Festival time created a special mood.  Thank you Margreet for leading us at Palm Sunday, to take in the Lantern Estate in this way, was very special indeed. 

AN INTRODUCTION TO HOLY WEEK

In the Morning Gatherings this year, the events of Holy Week will be brought to us by different people.  The Holy Week song will be sung by a small choir to accompany the Holy Week's Gatherings and they will sing the event of the day and each morning they will add a new part.

PREPARATIONS TOWARDS EASTER

Always towards the main festivals, we have a lot of preparation to do.  In various working groups we reflected again on the meaning of Holy Week and Easter.

AS THE FIRST COLOURS OF SPRING APPEAR THROUGH THE GREYS OF WINTER

I am writing this as I begin my Lantern journey as Workshop Co-ordinator for the Land.  The sounds of birds twittering and a feeling of spring fills the air around me.

MORNING GATHERINGS ~ THE WEAVERY WORKSHOP PRESENTATIONS

This week we talked about the structure of weaving.  Structure is the fundamental element in weaving.  Good cloth is made by careful consideration of fibre colour and texture but the underlying weave is the basic formation of the character of any cloth.

FROM VALENTINE'S DAY TO 'DANCING AROUND THE WORLD' AND CELEBRATING ST BRIDE'S LIFE

This week many of us received lovely messages, some even flowers and chocolates from admirers, it was Valentine's Day! The weather has got warmer at last, birds are starting to build their nests and we had a great party at 'Bluebirds' to celebrate St Valentine's Day.
