Friends

There are a variety of ways that individuals develop an association with the Lantern Community, thereby joining a wide circle of support that contributes in a very valuable and positive way to the overall wellbeing of the Community.

Volunteers

A number of volunteers give their time to a whole range of activities that include gardening, handcrafts, printing, transport and tutoring. As well as new volunteers, many have been coming to the Lantern for a number of years and all are considered members of the Community. Their individual contribution is highly valued and appreciated.

If you would like to consider volunteering, we would be happy to meet you to discuss how this might be of mutual benefit. There are no fixed hours involved, and a wide variety of opportunities exist to match skills you may wish to offer, to the Communities needs. You can read our volunteer policy here and view the application form here.
( Note: If you wish to save the application form to your hard drive right click on the link and select 'save as')

It is a legal requirement that a Criminal Records Bureau check is carried out for all volunteers.

The Lantern Forum

The Lantern Community actively encourages communication and dialogue with a wide circle of people associated with the Community. There are regular meetings and working days throughout the year to which residents, family, friends, council members and advocates are invited, in order to share and listen to all who are concerned with the well- being and future of the Lantern.

Family and Friends Of Camphill

The Family and Friends Of Camphill are a registered charity that works to support not only Camphill itself, but parents, relatives and advocates of all residents in a Camphill Community. The aim, once again, is to support communication and dialogue on a mutual basis and create a central focus for themes which are of interest and concern to Communities and parents alike.

They are involved, in partnership with the Association of Camphill Communities, the Camphill Foundation, and the Camphill Advocacy project, in publishing regular newsletters called "Pages" and "Voices".
