The Lantern Administration
The Lantern Community does not perceive itself as an 'agency' or a 'service provider'. We strive to build a community that recognises and responds with creativity, flexibility and openness to the variety and diversity of changing needs, and to co-operate in enabling each individual to move to a desirable personal future.
-
Supported Living
In April 2003 the Lantern Community de-registered as a provider of residential care, and became a provider of support to people in their own home. This change has seen a fundamental shift of social care on a national basis, provided under the Governments initiative called "Supporting People".
-
Valuing People
In 2001 the Government published a white paper under the title of 'Valuing People' that significantly set the agenda for a new inclusive approach to those people with special needs and their carers, the services offered, and their right to be recognised as citizens with choices who can make a worthwhile contribution to society.
